The Shepherding Program at Trinity

At Trinity, the Board of Deacons extends it ministry to every member of the church in a direct way through its Shepherding Program.  The membership is divided into flocks and each flock has an assigned Deacon as its Shepherd. When new members join the church they are assigned to a flock and their Shepherd (Deacon) will contact them as soon as possible.  Shepherds are there to answer questions about Church Life and to help direct new members to the functions and events at Trinity in which they have an interest.  Involvement helps members to feel comfortable and to learn quickly about the warmth that Trinity has to offer, as they become part of their new Church Family.  Shepherds encourage their flocks to share the events that shape their lives:  births, graduations, anniversaries, birthdays and special occasions.  They also want to be there to support each member in times of need:  illness, stress, grief and death.  By sharing together, members and Shepherds, learn more about what Christian Love truly means, and how it is a very important part in their spiritual growth as individuals who have dedicated their lives to God. Fellowship is a special gift, which allows each and every child of God to experience Christian Life to its fullest potential.

Trinity’s Shepherding Program’s goal is that each and every member will always feel that they have a line of communication open to the church at all times.   When members have a need and cannot reach the Pastor or the Church, they are encouraged to call their Shepherd.  The Shepherd will then make the contacts necessary to help the member get answers to their questions or receive a call back from the Pastor as soon as possible.  By working closely with all members on a one to one basis, the opportunity to be a loving and compassionate church is unlimited. Shepherding makes membership at Trinity special and the Board of Deacons first commitment is to continue this tradition.
